Almighty God, Caregiver to us all, have mercy on us today.
While we sit in our comfortable chairs and surf the worldwide web, millions are dying. Today I read that, on average, 5.7 people die every minute from the scourge that we calls AIDS, the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. In the U.S. alone, 40,000 people are infected with HIV every year, and every year 14,000 die.
God, forgive me for my indifference. God, heal your creation. God, give us the cure for HIV/AIDS. Rid the world of this curse.
Thank you for Jesus, who took upon Himself all of our afflictions. May we rest in Him today.
